Rep. David Shepard’s campaign cook-out fills Dickson’s Holland Park

State Rep. David Shepard held his re-election campaign launch Thursday afternoon at Dickson’s Holland Park. Located next to the famed Frank Clement Birthplace-Halbrook Railroad Museum, the park was a lively venue starting just before 5 p.m. and continued to attract well-wishers, supporters and the curious alike up to 7 p.m. There was free food, fresh off the grill, cold beverages and live music for all to enjoy.

Dickson public officials, state legislators and Tennessee Democratic Party officials all turned out to show their support. The early evening event was well attended as over four hundred friends and supporters filled the park’s pre-arranged tables and bistro stands. The aroma of hickory chips filled the air as music flowed from the stage.

David Shepard, his wife and daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren were all on hand through the evening. Volunteers manned tables to register guests for the give-away prizes and accept donations. Smiles, laughter and good cheer filled the park as people mingled freely and networked as well. Yard signs were on hand for the asking and many attendees made monetary donations, some to the museum and some to the campaign.
