The Consumer Products Safety Commission is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury or death associated with the use of the thousands of consumer products under the agency’s jurisdiction. CPSC is committed to protecting consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical or mechanical hazard. CPSC’s work to ensure the safety of consumer products – such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters and household chemicals – contributed to a decline in the rate of deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 30 years. Companies often cooperate with the commission in addressing issues of safety concerns with their products.
It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
The following items have been included in the commission’s latest recall notice:
Decorative Lamps: Angel’s Touch Collections announces the recall of its Butterfly Clip Light (SKU# 416593) and Shell Clip Light (SKU# 416955) lamps that feature a Tiffany-style stained glass shade resembling a multicolored butterfly or a seashell. The lamps are being recalled due to exposed wiring at the base. This feature poses shock and fire hazards to consumers.
The seashell lamps measure 5.5-inches tall and 1.5-inches wide, and weigh around 1.5 pounds. The butterfly lamps measure 10.5-inches tall and 7.5-inches wide, and weigh around 2 pounds. Both lamps use a 7-watt type C bulb and have a plug-in cord with a cord-mounted on/off thumb-switch. The SKU number can be found on the product’s packaging. The lamps were sold exclusively at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store locations nationwide and online at www.crackerbarrell.com from November 2012 through February 2013 for about $40.
Consumers should immediately stop using the lamps, unplug them and return them to any Cracker Barrel Old Company Store or by mail to Angel’s Touch Collections, 2732 Teaster Lane, Suite 119, Piegeon Forge, TN 37868, for a full refund, including shipping.
Remote-controlled 3 Channel Helicopters: Toys-R-Us announces the recall of the Fast Lane FA-005 Radio Control 3-Channel Helicopter with Gyro Stabilizer and Charger. The rechargeable battery inside the helicopter can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers or nearby items.
The model number is printed on the front of the product packaging and on the underside of the helicopter. The double-rotor helicopters are blue and white, approximately 9-inches high and have the Fast Lane logo on the top of the helicopter. There sold with a remote control unit, a battery charger and carrying case.
The helicopter was sold exclusively at Toys-R-Us stores nationwide and online at www.toysrus.com from September 2012 through January 2013 for about $100.
Consumers should immediately stop using the remote-controlled helicopter and return all components to a Toys-R-Us store for a full refund or store credit.

Hammock and Shade: H-E-B is recalling the Outdoor Solutions Hammock with Sunshade due to a fall hazard. The seam in the lounge of the hammock can open and rip, posing a fall hazard.
The Outdoor Solutions Hammock and Sunshade is a stand-alone, light-brown canvas hammock that sits inside a steel and plastic frame. It has a detachable sunshade affixed to the hammock. The product was sold in a light brown canvas bag with handles. A tag affixed to the outside of the canvas bag includes the product name, model number 147184 and UPC number 4122088609.
The Outdoor Solutions Hammock and Sunshade was sold exclusively at Texas H-E-B stores between February 2013 and June 2013 for about $76. Consumers should immediately stop using the hammock, disassemble it and contact H-E-B for a full refund.
