Median closed to parking for Downtown Market

DowntownMarketLogo-122x200

Beginning this week at the farmer’s market on Public Square, parking will no longer be allowed along the yellow median on the road.  Signs will be posted stating to not park along that area and the police will begin ticketing individuals that park there.

This has become a safety concern over the past few weeks  If a Fire Truck or other emergency vehicle needed to be on the Square, it will be almost impossible to get them through the tight areas.

Please look for parking spaces at the parking garages located on Franklin Street, on Second Street in front of the County Court House or along any of the other downtown streets as the meters are not in service on Saturday mornings.

Market organizers appreciate your understanding and patience as they implement this policy and try to provide a much safer environment and enjoyable event.
