Three candidates vye for Mayoral seat

The deadline for candidates interested in filing and qualifying to run for city offices has closed. Three individuals are on the ballot for city mayor: City Councilor Jeff Burkhart, incumbent Mayor Kim McMillan and City Councilor Bill Summers.

Two candidates are vying for your vote to replace Summers as Ward 10 councilman: Mike Alexander and Dwight Luton. Jeff Truitt, who had qualified, is withdrawing his name for consideration.

Voter registration deadline for this election is October 6 and early voting will occur from Oct 15-30. The general election will be held Tuesday, November 4.
