Woodlawn man dies in single car crash

A Montgomery County man was killed Monday afternoon when his truck went off Lake Road, striking a tree around 1:45 p.m.

According to a Highway Patrol report, James E. Richardson, 68, of Woodlawn was driving south near 3001 Lake Road in a 2005 GMC truck when the vehicle veered off the left side of the road and went into a ditch before coming to a stop partly back on the roadway.

Richardson was wearing his seat belt and alcohol was not involved in the crash.

The preliminary THP report gave no indication of the cause of the crash.
