Winter Weather Advisory issued by National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has issue a Winter Weather Advisory for ice accumulation from 9 p.m. tonight through 9 a.m. Sunday Morning. This second of three storms is expected to begin South of the I-40 Corridor and move across northern Middle Tennessee, bring up to two tenths of an inch of ice to the area.

Two tenths of an inch of ice on top of the existing ice from Friday’s storm could bring down tree limbs and powerlines. Drivers should be aware of potential ice accumulations on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses.

Some warm up is expected during the day Sunday before round three of this winter weather events occurs on Monday. The forecast calls for a period of light snow Monday night.
