A spell of unsettled weather is heading for Middle Tennessee beginning this afternoon with a 30% chance of thunderstorms and extending through Monday. The highest probability of storms is Thursday, Election Day, when the chance of storms hits 50%-60%.

The National Weather Service calls for increasingly moist and unstable conditions could result in a few strong storms today but no widespread severe weather is expected.

The possibility of strong storms and severe weather continues though Monday.

Temperatures will reach 92 today, 91 on Thursday and will remain in the upper 80′s through Monday.

Clarksville and most of Middle Tennessee remain in near-drought conditions, so any rain would be welcome.
