THP holds Citizens’ Trooper Academy

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is taking applications for the fall class of the Citizens’ Trooper Academy for classes to be held in Nashville and Jackson beginning September 16 in Nashville and September 18 in Jackson. The classes run from 6-9 p.m. Registration deadline  is August 20.

The academy offers 30 hours of training and was created to provide the community a better understanding of the Tennessee Highway Patrol and  the Department of Safety and Homeland Security.

Topics to be covered in the course are investigations, special operations, homeland security and others areas of the patrol.
