Entry Sign-IMG_5621

Saturday morning was bright, crisp and breezy. A perfect set of conditions for the ribbon cutting that marked the grand opening of the Robert Clark Natural Area and Clarksville Blueway. The boating launch point is the city’s newest recreation facility located just off Tiny Town Road in North Clarksville. The Clarksville Blueway is the launch point for canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts to put in for cruising down the  West Fork Creek to Billie Dunlop Park and beyond that, to The Red River and Riverfront Park on the Cumberland River.

The ribbon cutting was well attended with well wishers and friends of the Clark Family, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Mayor Pro Temp Geno Grubbs, other members of City Council, Clarksville Parks & Recreation personnel and over sixty Blueway Adventure enthusiasts waiting to get in the water.

With the assistance of Clarksville Police personnel  handling traffic control and parking, Tiny Town Road traffic was not adversely impacted as people arrived for the ribbon cutting and unloading of canoes and kayaks.
