Roadwork planned for Downtown Clarksville

Milling and paving work will be scheduled on the downtown streets in Clarksville this week.

The following is a list of streets and the order in which the work is planned along with the amount of time estimated to complete each section:

• Franklin St. from University to Second St.:

Milling 1 day
Paving 1 day

• Franklin St. from Second St. to First St.:

Milling 1 day (Road will be closed while work is occurring)
Paving 1 day

• Main St. from University to Riverside Dr.:

Milling 2 days
Paving 1 day

• Second St. from Franklin to Crossland Ave.:

Milling 1 day
Paving 1 day

• Third St. from Madison St. to College St.

Milling 1 day
Paving 1 day

The Street Department is making every effort to accomplish this work as quickly as possible; however, rain may delay the work. The work on each of the streets listed will be completed before workers move to the next section so that there will be as little disruption as possible with parking.

Franklin Street water outage, road closure planned

Clarksville Gas and Water has scheduled a water outage and road closure on Franklin Street at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening, depending on weather conditions, for water valve replacement work.

Paving work continues in downtown Clarksville

Contractors for the City will begin work next week to put pavement markings for parking spaces in the downtown area along 3rd Street, Franklin Street, Main Street and Commerce Street.
