GOLDEN POND, KY – Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area seeks new members to fill vacancies on the Land Between The Lakes Advisory Board. Individuals interested in being appointed to this Board need to submit a resume, and include a cover letter that addresses their qualifications for providing advice on environmental education efforts at Land Between The Lakes and their willingness to help promote public participation in the planning processes for land and resource management. A background check will be conducted.

The Land Between The Lakes Advisory Board functions solely as an advisory body in compliance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act. As prescribed in the Land Between The Lakes Protection Act of 1998 (section 501), the Advisory Board is comprised of 17 members. Members advise the National Recreation Area on environmental education efforts and promoting public participation in the planning processes for land and resource management.
Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area manages more than 170,000 acres in western Kentucky and Tennessee as part of the Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture’s public lands program.
Land Between The Lakes offers outdoor recreation, lake access, land management, and environmental education to over 1.4 million visitors annually. The Friends of Land Between The Lakes works in partnership with the Forest Service providing program services, funds development, and volunteer support.
