Indoor Aquatic Center is now hiring lifeguards and cashiers

The Indoor Aquatic Center located on 166 Cunningham Lane is now hiring for part-time lifeguards and cashiers.

To become a lifeguard, participants must be at least 15 years of age and able to swim 300 yards continuously, tread water for two minutes without the use of arms or hands and successfully complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds.

All candidates must apply before December 9th for the first round of lifeguard classes being held next week, December 9 – 12 from 3-8 p.m. Cost is $60.00 for the class plus $32 for their book. There will also be a second class held for anyone who cannot make the first deadline on December 30 through January 5.

Cashiers need to be at least 18 years of age and know basic math and computer skills.

Lifeguards and cashiers are needed for the following hours:

  • Monday through Thursday: 6:15 a.m. – 12 noon and 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Fridays:  6:15 a.m. – 12 noon and 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Saturdays:  12 noon – 6 p.m.
  • Sundays:  1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Applicants may apply at the Parks & Recreation Main Office, located at 102 Public Square, or at the Indoor Aquatic Center.
