UPDATE: Hot, Humid weather is expected to continue today after a warm and muggy night. Expect highs in the mid-90s with high humidity will send the heat index as high as 105 today. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop again today with a few strong storms that could generate some wind damage

(Saturday) Hot, humid conditions are expected this afternoon with highs in the mid-90s and high humidity combining to create heat index of 105. A heat advisory has been issued until 9 p.m. this evening with the highest heat coming between the hours 1-7 p.m.

The heat will raise the risk of heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Take precautions if you work or spend significant time outdoors, and reschedule strenuous activities to early morning of late evening.

Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, wear loose-fitting clothing and drink plenty of water. Take plenty of breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.

If someone is overcome by the heat, call 911.
