This week, Gov. Haslam visited the city of Dover, along with Polk and McMinn Counties to announce recipients of a Community Development Block Grant.
Dover (Stewart County): CDBG grant will assist with sewer system rehabilitation
Athens and Etowah (McMinn County): CDBG grant will assist with sewer system improvements
Polk County: CDBG grant will assist with water line extensions
Additional CDBG recipients will be announced in the upcoming months.
The funds were allocated under a procedure authorized by the Tennessee General Assembly. Allocation of CDBG funds is based on priorities set at local levels where community needs are best known. The CDBG program is administered in Tennessee by the Department of Economic and Community Development.
