Five arrested in “brutal” assault of Hopkinsville youth

Five people have been arrested and charged in connection with a brutal sexual assault on a Hopkinsville, TN, teenager. More arrests are expected in the case.

Louisville Metro Sex Crimes Unit in Louisville, KY, arrested Sam Miller, 18, of Hopkinsville, KY, the fifth person charged in the case. Miller faces charges of sodomy, first degree; promoting a minor in a sex performance; use of a minor in a sex performance; distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a Minor. He will be transported to Christian County and held on $1 million bond.

Four people (two men and two boys) were arrested earlier in connection with the assault.

According to Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the Hopkinsville youth, age 15, was assaulted at a Lafayette Road residence and taken to Gateway Medical Center for treatment of “serious and life-threatening physical injuries.” The assault involved three of the suspects and was also reportedly videotaped and circulated.

Charged in the case are:

• Tyler Riess Perry, 19,Willow Court, Hopkinsville: first-degree sodomy, tampering with physical evidence, promoting a sexual performance by a minor, use of a minor in a sexual performance. Bond: $100,000 bond.

• Dayton Ross Jones, 20, Wellington Way, Hopkinsville: first-degree sodomy, promoting a sexual performance by a minor, use of a minor in a sexual performance, distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Bond: $1 million bond.

Both are being held in Christian County Jail.

• A 17-year-old Hopkinsville male (name withheld), first-degree sodomy, tampering with physical evidence.

• A 17-year-old Hopkinsville male (name withheld), possession/viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

The two juveniles were handled through the Christian County Designated Workers Office.
