Erinne Hester named County Assessor

Erinne Hester has been named Assessor for Montgomery County in an 18-3 vote by the Montgomery County Commissioners. Hester resigned the position as as the county’s Accounts and Budget Director before taking the new oath of office. Hester’s new position has a salary of $90,418.

Hester replaces Betty Burchette, who left county government to take a position with Legends Bank after spending five years as Assessor. Roy Manners, Hester’s opponent, received three commissioner votes. Heather Thorpe, whose name was also on the ballot, received no votes.
