A woman whose car became airborne and landed in a  dry creek bed off Lylewood Road Tuesday remains in critical condition today.

Robin Bowers, 45, of Indian Mound, was driving a Dodge Stratus northbound on Lylewood near Kirkland Road when she veered off the highway, over-corrected herself and drove off the opposite side , according to Tennessee Highway Patrol, who noted that she was traveling at a high speed and skid some 250 feet before overturning and landing 20 feet below.

She was transported by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Police identified the license plate that was ripped from the car to be registered in Stewart County. Twenty emergency responders from the Woodlawn Fire Rescue, Montgomery County Rescue Squad and MCSO with Tennessee Highway Patrol are investigating. Charges are pending.
