CPD posts additional officers on city streets this weekend

The Clarksville Police Department is actively investigating the two separate shooting incidents that occurred Thursday, August 14. The shootings left a total of six people wounded.

The CPD will have additional officers out in specific areas of interest throughout the rest of this week but add that they have no definitive evidence that two shooting incidents are related at this time. No further information is available at this time.

According to police reports, four people were shot on  Treeland Drive when the driver of a white Ford pickup opened fire on a Cadillac parked in front of a home. The Ford F-150 and a white car traveling behind it sped off at a high rate of speed toward Trenton Road.

The four people shot in the Caldwell Lane incident include:

  • Taylor Barger, 20, of Clarksville , shot in her leg and hip. She was found laying on the ground about 10 feet from the home.
  • Donavon Smith, 27,  shot in his upper left leg.
  • A 16-year-old, shot in one finger while looking through his bedroom window.
  • Lacy McIntire, 21, was shot in her left calf, according to police reports.

Bullet holes were also found throughout the home.

All were taken to Gateway Medical Center for treatment.

Twenty-four gun casings were found on Trenton Road and the weapon used was a rifle.

Just four hours prior to the Treelawn Drive incident, two men were wounded in an exchange of gunfire on Caldwell Lane at Edmondson Ferry Road. Light and dark colored sedans were reportedly exchanging gunfire. Just moments later, three men were found in a light-colored Camry, two of them shot.

  • Christopher Fletcher, 28,  shot in his left shoulder.
  • Backseat passenger Christopher Harris, head was grazed by a bullet.

Both men were taken to Gateway Medical Center.
