A National Summit to Improve Access to HCV Testing will be telecast Tuesday, June 17 from 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday, June 18: from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
All-oral therapy for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection creates new opportunities for preventing HCV-related morbidity and mortality. This curative therapy will greatly expand the number of persons eligible to receive treatment. To ensure that the full benefits of these regimens are realized for individuals and communities, public health can deliver essential services to meet its three fundamental roles: assessment, policy development, and assurance.
During the Summit, a cross-section of subject matter experts from public health, academia, health care providers, health care systems, and industry will explore the following topics:
- Implementing policies for HCV Testing
- Improving the continuum of HCV care and treatment
- Reducing HCV incidence
- Implementing surveillance and evaluation
