Another round of winner weather possible for Monday night

A third round of winter weather is expected tonight as another batch of moisture is expected to move in from the south after 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

With temperatures expected to at or below freezing, a wintry mix of freezing rain and snow is possible for areas south of I-40. By 3 a.m. light precipitation will encompass all of Middle Tennessee and a changeover to sleet and snow is possible.

Total ice accumulation of up to 1/10th of an inch are possible for areas east of I-65 with snow accumulations of up to 1/2 ich possible for the same area. Areas west of I-65 can expect trace amounts.

Temperatures are expected to remain at or below freezing until at least 9 a.m. on Tuesday. This means some area roads could be slick for the morning commute, especially on bridges and elevated roadways
