New bison calf at LBL preserve

GOLDEN POND, KY: Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is welcoming a new bison calf to its Elk and Bison Prairie, a drive-through wildlife viewing area that i is open from dawn to dusk year round.

According to officials at LBL, the new calf was spotted on December 9. Officials suspect it was born during or just prior to the icy weekend in early December. The mother bison has been extremely protective of her new calf.

The Elk and Bison Prairie is a three mile trip with exhibits that detail the significance of the animals.  Admission is $5 per vehicle. For more information, call (800) 525-7077.
