“Grace Among the Leavings” featured at Historic Collinsville re-enactment

What better place to hold a book signing for Beverly Fisher’s Civil War novel Grace Among the Leavings than a pioneer village/Civil War re-enactment, the 152nd anniversary of the Battle of Riggins Hill. The full Civil War re-enactment at Historic Collinsville takes place with Porter’s Battery over two days, October 4-5.

grace among the leavingsFisher, author of the popular Grace Among the Leavings, will be a guest at Historic Collinsville on October 4 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The re-enactment begins at 2 p.m.

The event includes the military encampment, historic house tours, music in the Wildwood Church and School, spinning and weaving by Clarksville Spinners and Handweavers, and a Civil War Tea presented by the Confederate Belles of Tennessee.

The event is open to the public. Admission is $10, ages 6-12 $5 and under six, free). Self-guided tour admission offered every Thursday through Sunday from May 15-Oct 15 are $5.00.

Directions to Historic Collinsville: Take Hwys 48 and 13 South from Clarksville across the McClure Bridge for approximately seven miles to Montgomery Central School. Continue on Highway 48 about one mile. Christ Fellowship Church is on your left and just past the church you will turn left onto Southside Road. Go approximately five miles to a 4-way stop. Turn right onto Chapel Hill Road. Travel 0.4 mile to Shelton Ferry Road just past Southside General Store. Turn left onto Shelton Ferry Road and go 0.7 mile to Weakley Road. Continue 0.2 mile. You have arrived at Historic Collinsville!
