Tennessee Women’s Theater Project to hold auditions

Tennessee Women’s Theater Project will hold auditions for the world premiere of Voices of Nashville: Immigration and Community, by Christine Mather and Sara Sharpe.

Dates for the auditions are August 16, 6-9  p.m. and August 17, 2-5 p.m. Auditions will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 3511 Belmont Blvd in Nashville.

Available roles include  (actors must have dialect skills):

  • 1 man – age 30-50, to play Sudanese, Indian, Mexican and other characters
  • 1 woman – age 30-50, to play Sudanese, Indian and other characters
  • 1 woman – age 30-50 to play Mexican, Azerbaijani and other characters

The audition will be 2 short monologs from the script in 2 different dialects.  It is suggested that those auditioning refer to, a dialect resource.

Performance dates are October 4-20.  After our run in the theater, the show will tour locally (dates TBD) at community centers, civic organization, churches, and schools.

Compensation is $15.50/hour for rehearsal; $500/week for performances in the theater; $150 per performance on tour.
