Roots Radio, the streaming audio service of Music City Roots, takes a major step forward this week with the opening of a new broadcast studio in The Factory At Franklin. Just outside the doors of Liberty Hall, the new home of acclaimed live show Music City Roots, the storefront space will offer Roots Radio its first-ever community headquarters. It will also allow live connection to Hippie Radio, 94.5 FM, MCR’s weekly on-air home in Nashville.

Recording artist and Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Member John Oates will be the special guest of Roots Radio at an open house and grand opening celebration Friday evening, July 25 at 6 pm. One of the most successful songwriters and stars in American pop history as half of Hall & Oates, John Oates has pursued his passion for roots music in recent years, releasing several albums and touring extensively as a solo performer.

Roots Radio is an Internet radio station featuring selected live cuts and interviews from the extensive catalog of recordings captured at Music City Roots since 2009. The station streams 24/7 at and via free iPhone and Android apps. Now with the new broadcast studio, listen for live DJ sessions and interviews with hosts Keith Bilbrey and Craig Havighurst, plus special performances.

The studio and Music City Roots merch store and box office will be open most weekdays from 10-2 and most Saturday mornings.

Media and friends wishing to attend Friday’s open house are asked to please RSVP
