Tennessee economic development officials expressed praise for Percision Coils decision to locate its expansion operations in Haywood County. The decision keeps the company’s operations in Tennessee and allows for future expansion. The move brings 26 new jobs to Brownsville.

Gov. Bill Haslam, ECD Commissioner Bill Hagerty and Haywood County officials recently joined with representatives from Precision Coils to announce plans by the company to expand and relocate its existing Somerville, Tenn. facility to Brownsville, Tenn.  Increasing demand for the Precision Coils product line has made the move to a larger facility with expansion capability necessary. The expansion represents an investment of $3.7 million and the creation of 26 new jobs.

“I appreciate Precision Coils’ decision to expand and grow in our state. “We will continue to work towards our goal of making Tennessee the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high quality jobs,” Haslam said.

“Under Governor Haslam’s leadership, our department is continually working to foster a business friendly environment that gives companies the confidence to invest and expand in our state. “I congratulate Precision Coils on its expansion and appreciate the additional jobs they will create for Tennesseans,” Hagerty said.

Precision Coils, a business of Unison™ Comfort Technologies, specializes in manufacturing competitively-priced, precision-engineered replacement and OEM coils. The company has secured a lease for an existing 60,000 square foot facility in the Brownsville Industrial Park and has immediate plans to add an additional 20,000 square feet to the facility. The addition is slated for completion in the spring of 2012.  The company plans to begin moving early summer and be fully operational in Brownsville in July.

“The move to the Brownsville Industrial Park enables us to meet growth expectations in a high-quality manufacturing environment for the foreseeable future,” Jay Althof, president, Unison Comfort Technologies, said.

“We value the work ethic of our employees. “One of our objectives was selecting a location in a geographic area that would allow us to retain as many employees as possible,” David Pflum, general manager, Precision Coils, said.

Regional government officials were pleased with the company’s decision and hopeful of the impact it will have on future development.

“The citizens of Haywood County are excited about the decision of Precision Coils to move its manufacturing operations to Haywood County. “We believe the strong work ethic of our labor force and the overall pro-business attitude of our local leadership makes Precision Coils’ decision a very positive and win-win opportunity for both the company and Haywood County,” Franklin Smith, Haywood County mayor, said.

“On behalf of the citizens of Brownsville, I want to express my thanks to the leadership of Precision Coils and its parent company for choosing our city to relocate its manufacturing operations. “Over the next few months, our entire staff is looking forward to working with them to make their transition as smooth as possible. We have always known that our outstanding workforce and reliable infrastructure make Brownsville a logical choice to locate and grow a business and create new economic opportunities for our region, and Precision Coils’ decision to move here reinforces that fact,” Jo Matherne, Brownsville mayor, said.
