Fort Campbell loses six soldiers to suicide bomber

Six Fort Campbell soldiers have died following a suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan that also wounded 11 other people. The suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan wounded 11 others.

According to Maj. Gen. John Campbell, commander of the 101st Airborne Division, the soldiers killed included Cpl. Sean M. Collins, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; Cpl. Willie A. McLawhorn Jr., 23, of Conway, N.C.; Spc. Patrick D. Deans, 22, of Orlando, Fla.; Spc. Kenneth E. Necochea Jr., 21, of San Diego, Calif.; Spc. Derek T. Simonetta, 21, of Redwood City, Calif.; and Spc. Jorge E. Villacis, 24, of Sunrise, Fla.

The bombing occred Sunday when a mini-bus loaded with approximately 1,000 pounds of explosives blew up at an outpost in the Zhari District of Afghanistan. The bomb caused a building to collapse on top of the soldiers.
