APSU to host economic forum

The Austin Peay State University College of Business, along with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta-Nashville Branch, will hold a presentation and discussion about the local economy next week.

Billed as the Economic Forum with the Fed, the event will feature Lee Jones, regional executive of the Nashville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He will be at APSU from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 2 in the Morgan University Center Ballroom. His role is to ensure information on the local businesses and industries in the Nashville zone is gathered in support of one of the key initiatives of the Federal Reserve Bank’s research department.

The Clarksville area is included in what the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta identifies as the Nashville Branch zone. The Economic Forum with the Fed event is intended to give Jones an opportunity to get acquainted with the Clarksville community and to exchange observations about regional economic conditions, industry trends and outlooks.

Preregistration is appreciated. Space is limited, and registration will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Certificates for professional development credit-hours for educators will be provided at the conclusion of each event. To register, call Dr. Dennis Pearson, assistant professor of economics, at (931) 221-7851 or e-mail to pearsond@apsu.edu by March 1 to confirm attendance.
